Guys, does anyone use fancy art software? Can any of you recommend a graphics tablet or art software to me? I wanna get one for my birthday in late October, but I can't find one I want. I'm considering GIMP or PaintTool SAI, but...

I'm a young beginner who doesn't even have a tablet yet, but has bee drawing with a mouse for about half a year now, and on paper for years.

@RioBlitzle: 1. Love the Shaymin.
2. Sorry, I don't use a tablet ^^" I could do some research for you if you want :3

@EeveeEon: Yes please owo I've been researching for weeks...

@RioBlitzle: Ok, so acording to my research, you have plenty of options.

Of course if you wish a FREE programe. Of not, I can keep going with my search.

1: Sketcher Lite
2: Skitch
3: Fire Alpaca (I think it's avaliable in Tablet too...)

This is all that I got ^^" Sry if couldn't get more.

@EeveeEon: I guess you could use Adobe Illustrator...
but if you want it for free, you have to do a lot of weird searching on the internet and you might get viruses.
But it's worth the buy!
Also, I recommend the Wacom bamboo tablet, but it is quite pricy.

@Nuzlocke.FireRed and EeveeEon: Thanks, guys! Yeah free is cool, but I'd prefer a better program, maybe a little pricy. I don't want Photoshop, that's like £240 per year.

I was thinking about GIMP to start. It's a free program, supposed to be like Photoshop. If I didn't like it, I'd get the free trial for PaintTool SAI, which costs £42 but is supposed to be a veeeeerrrry good software.

Thanks for your help!

@RioBlitzle:
If you have a tablet, I recommend Sketchbookx

@RioBlitzle: I have one! It's what I use to draw my comics! I use Manga Studio 4 Debut along with Wacom Tablet.

I personally use photoshop CS6 extended with only a laptop mousepad. After a while you get good at it.

@M.W, EeveeEon, silver-wolf, bluefiredragon, Nuzlovke.FireRed: The thing is, I've been improving, but using a mouse takes forever, the work I end up with sometimes comes out really sloppy and I have to fix it...

Also, even with some sort of student discount or whatever I'll get because I'm in Secondary school, Photoshop is gonna cost me about £240 per year, whereas PaintTool SAI, another program I have my eyes on is only about 1/6 of that, and is a single payment, not yearly.

GIMP is supposed to be a lot like Photoshop, but free... Meh, tomorrow I'll talk to a tech teacher (Art in my school doesn't have tablets, all the work is traditional) and have a talk about this. I've got my eyes on a Wacom Bamboo...
My art teacher told me she heard Adobe Illustrator and photoshop were good, but I had to talk with the Tech Department... uhh...

Thanks for all your help! I'll look up all suggested programs and consider!

Edit: The £ sign is supposed to be a Pond sign. The pound is bigger than the Dollar, so things seem slightly cheper for me, although they're still the same XD

I have physically purchased a Wacom Bamboo, it's coming tomorrow, but I'm not allowed to use it until my birthday late October. It was on an 82% off discount or something like that. If I get over £42 at my birthday, I'll probably get PaintTool SAI, but otherwise I'm hoping to get GIMP.

Thanks for your help!
